MARCH - 2010 Calendar of Events

THE GREG WILSON

Tickets $12-$15

March 5 - 6 - 7 (Friday/Saturday/Sunday)

"Comics Unleashed"
"FOX TV" "National lampoon"

The Greg Wilson began as just another Greg Wilson from the suburbs of Dallas, TX. Using his uber-keen observation skills and a loud mouth, Greg cut a wide, dangerous path to the bright lights of Broadway, TV and film. His determined willingness as a comedian and actor to go against the grain, ignore the status quo and shock the audience has been the hallmark of a career on the edge and a reputation that has to be referred to as “The”.

The Greg Wilson blew into NYC like a hurricane, changing the stand-up scene forever. While others were telling Seinfeld-inspired jokes, Wilson took audiences on a wild ride of gut-level observations, outlandish characters, and lightning-fast improvisations. A comedy cocktail often described as Sam Kinison, Red Foxx and John Belushi all rolled into one. TGW’s unrelenting antics electrified audiences, galvanized comedians and frightened club managers.

Driven by the comedy mayhem that is TGW’s hallmark, he created an over-the-top carnival of comedy that combined his passion for the outrageous and the intense audience interaction Wilson perfected as a member of Ad-Libs: The Comedy Madhouse.

At the same time, Greg set a record headlining the World Famous Laugh Factory in Times Square 40 weeks in a row in 2005.

Upon arriving in LA, Showtime immediately snapped him up for an appearance on their new stand-up series “White Boys in the ‘Hood”. A performance that would garner the series’ only standing ovation. This was closely followed by a featured appearance in NBC’s “Studio 60 on the Sunset Strip” and 2 appearances on the syndicated hit “Comics Unleashed with Byron Allen.” Greg crushed so hard, Byron offered Greg a writing job on the show and a 3rd appearance. Greg graciously accepted.

Most recently, Greg guest starred in an episode of the new NBC series “Life” and ABC’s “Ugly Betty”.

In early 2009 Greg was tapped to write and star in a series of scenes for the National Lampoon movie “Endless Bummer”. He also completed a commissioned screenplay for National Lampoon, “Jersey Devil”.

Heralded by STUFF MAGAZINE and THE NEW YORK POST as the most exciting voice in stand-up comedy today, Greg continues to break the rules, reinvent his craft and leave audiences laughing in pain. He is...

KRISTIN KEY

Tickets $10-$12

March 12 - 13 - 14 (Friday/Saturday/Sunday)

"NBC"
"Last Comic Standing" "Comics Unleashed"

Twenty-five-year old Kristin Key seems like any other sweet, sexy, well-behaved preacher's daughter…until she opens her mouth. Her fearless style of comedy has earned her the title "Preacher's Kid Gone Wild," and after starting her stand-up career at age 19, she quickly became one of the youngest female headliners in the country.

Key was born in Aurora, Missouri, raised in Liberal, Kansas and lived in Amarillo, Texas until moving recently to San Marcos, Texas. She had always wanted to try comedy, but didn't know anything about it, adding "I didn't see my first live comedy show until I did my first open mic."

She was in college studying to be a paramedic in 2000 when the Amarillo Comedy Club opened and her life took a fateful turn. Key did her first open mic night there and was hooked. She quit college that same week to take a full-time job at the club and pursue her career as a comedian.

Key says, "I love making people laugh at things they usually wouldn't think about," and describes her style of comedy as silly, edgy and very personal. "I make fun of myself a lot and I tell a lot of stories."

Since then, Key has performed all over the country in clubs like The Funny Bone, The Funnyfarm, Jokers and the Capital City Comedy Club in Austin, where she auditioned for and made the finals of"Last Comic Standing."

KENNY KANE

Tickets $10-$12

March 19 - 20 - 21 (Friday/Saturday/Sunday)

"Bob & Tom"
"FOX TV"

Combining the frenetic pace of Robin Williams, the absurdity of Steve Martin and the physicality of Jim Carrey, Kenny Kane fuses stand up and sketch comedy in one action packed show. Kane takes the audience through “A day in the life.” One thing leads to another in this hilarious action packed show…

This multi-dimensional performer draws from his background as a black belt, hip-hop dancer, soccer player and track athlete to create an extremely high-energy and physical show. Kenny's unequivocal force is balanced by authentic stories about family, relationships, teaching children, and motivational speaking. After watching a recent performance, an audience member said, "Wow! I'm out of breath and I was sitting! Not only was that hilarious, it was original and he actually made me think."

Kane's versatile comic style has won the favor of many of comedy's most influential professionals. The highly respected Budd Friedman (Founder of the world famous Improv, and producer of “Evening at the Improv”) has given Kenny his own valued endorsement by making him a regular in Las Vegas at the Improv at Harrah’s. Brad Sherwood (“Drew Carey Show”, "Tonight Show," "Who's Line Is It Anyway") says, "Kenny Kane is a cross between Robin Williams and Steve Martin," and thirty-year comedy vet Denny Johnston ("Tonight Show," LA Laugh Off winner) says Kane is "a mix of Jim Carey and Martin Short."

In addition to being a regular in Vegas and touring the United States, Kane has performed for our troops in Iraq, Afghanistan and Pakistan; recently appeared on FOX TV’s irreverent “Talk Show with Spike Feresten”; has been heard by millions of listeners on the nationally syndicated “Bob & Tom Show”; and was seen regularly as host, stand up, and sketch comedian on UPN’s “Seriously Unusual Television”. Kenny Kane is undoubtedly an up and comer that is rapidly gaining the attention of Hollwood elite. So don’t be surprised if you see some of the work he does on stage show up on his own sit-com in the near future…
