MORGAN PRESTON

Tickets $10-$12
Nov 6 - 7 (Friday/Saturday)
"Comedy Central"
"Clubs & Colleges"
|
Morgan Preston started his professional comedy career at the age of seventeen, because he had already had
enough and realized quickly that there were no jobs available that would allow him to say whatever he was thinking.......except Stand Up Comedy.
After 22 years in the business Preston has reinvented the saying 'doing things on his own terms'. He has produced and performed in some of the biggest productions in the country, for example in 2005 Preston was instrumental in producing one of 28 events to benefit victims of hurricane Katrina. The event was so successful, pairing headliner comedians from all over the country as they performed on a huge set in a beautiful theatre, that it raised more than double the money all the other 27 cities raised together. Preston was proud to send over 10,000 dollars to each of the chosen charities (there were 6).
"Alternative is a word that is thrown around in the comedy world" says Preston "and I'm starting to think it means NOT FUNNY." Preston goes on to say "Alternative means doing things in a different way from the norm.....thinking outside the box, and being successful at it. Alternative bands were bands who had huge followings, sold CD's......for example R.E.M, who did things completely on their own and built up huge followings and became a force."
Preston has become one of the most outspoken in-your-face, 'I dare you not to laugh' comedians working today. He owns a company along with partner Sean McCaan, called Bolt Media Group, which is a complete in-house production facility, handling web, television production, personal appearance and management for Preston and select clients. The company is able to self-produce all touring shows.......everything from sets they own, to tour rigs they own (40' triple slide fifth wheel star trailers), to merchandising (screen printing presses that produce all tour merchandise are all in-house).
With an impressive resume, and an onstage swagger few comedians can match, Preston tours the country, appearing in smoky out-of-the-way bars, corporate events, rodeos, huge theatres, television, and whatever else he can think of that will keep him from being pigeon-holed. His career has been an enigma to the rest of the comedy world as they try to figure out "how does he do that?"

THE GREG WILSON

Tickets $10-$12
Nov 13-14-15 (Friday/Saturday/Sunday)
"Comics Unleashed"
"FOX News"
|
The Greg Wilson began as just another Greg Wilson from the suburbs of Dallas, TX. Using his uber-keen observation skills and a loud mouth, Greg cut a wide, dangerous path to the bright lights of Broadway, TV and film. His determined willingness as a comedian and actor to go against the grain, ignore the status quo and shock the audience has been the hallmark of a career on the edge and a reputation that has to be referred to as “The”.
The Greg Wilson blew into NYC like a hurricane, changing the stand-up scene forever. While others were telling Seinfeld-inspired jokes, Wilson took audiences on a wild ride of gut-level observations, outlandish characters, and lightning-fast improvisations. A comedy cocktail often described as Sam Kinison, Red Foxx and John Belushi all rolled into one. TGW’s unrelenting antics electrified audiences, galvanized comedians and frightened club managers.
Driven by the comedy mayhem that is TGW’s hallmark, he created an over-the-top carnival of comedy that combined his passion for the outrageous and the intense audience interaction Wilson perfected as a member of Ad-Libs: The Comedy Madhouse.
Upon arriving in LA, Showtime immediately snapped him up for an appearance on their new stand-up series “White Boys in the ‘Hood”. A performance that would garner the series’ only standing ovation. This was closely followed by a featured appearance in NBC’s “Studio 60 on the Sunset Strip” and 2 appearances on the syndicated hit “Comics Unleashed with Byron Allen.” Greg crushed so hard, Byron offered Greg a writing job on the show and a 3rd appearance. Greg graciously accepted.
Most recently, Greg guest starred in an episode of the new NBC series “Life” and ABC’s “Ugly Betty”. In early 2009 Greg was tapped to write and star in a series of scenes for the National Lampoon movie “Endless Bummer”. He also completed a commissioned screenplay for National Lampoon, “Jersey Devil”.
Heralded by STUFF MAGAZINE and THE NEW YORK POST as the most exciting voice in stand-up comedy today, Greg continues to break the rules, reinvent his craft and leave audiences laughing in pain. He is...
The Monster Truck of Stand-Up...The Mexican Megaphone...The Comedy Tsunami...THE GREG WILSON!
...and don’t you forget it.

DENNY JOHNSTON

Tickets $10-$12
Nov 20-21-22 (Friday/Saturday/Sunday)
"Comedy Central"
"Comic Strip Live"
"Make me Laugh"
|
Denny started out as a musician in folk groups. At one time, Steve Martin was the opening act for the group Denny was a member of, called The Back Porch Majority. Gary Muledeer, (another prop legend) was also working with him in the group at that time. Watching Steve every night on tour, is what inspired Denny to become a prop comic. As a matter of fact, every time Denny thinks of a new routine, he pictures Steve doing it in his mind. If it makes him laugh, he figures it will make audiences laugh. He’s usually right. Denny appeared on the popular television show “Make Me Laugh” over twenty times, The Tonight Show and David Letterman. He entered the “Big L.A. Laff Off” beating fellow comics Kevin Nealon and Bobby Slayton to name a few of the five finalists. One hundred and nine comics started out and Denny finished being the 1st place winner!
He usually begins his stage act doing an impression of Jack Nicholson playing the part of “Jason” in “Friday The 13th”… hockey mask and all. Just that “Nicholson” voice coming from behind the mask is so stupid, it’s magical.
From that point on, the audience enjoys material that is even more bizarre. He created a character that is a true classic. Sergeant Savage. A gay, Marine drill instructor from West Hollywood, who wears a pink helmet and totes a pink gun.
His country singer with bad teeth, Roy Earl is one that almost gave a man sitting in the front row one evening, a heart attack from laughing too hard. Denny’s brother, a dentist, made him a pair of “ugly teeth” that were the very thing that inspired the “Billy Bob” teeth idea.
He also plays guitar and sings songs that sound as if they are going to be legitimate, but always turn out hilarious instead.
